Robert Downey Jr. praised ‘brother’ Johnny Depp after visiting his art exhibit in New York City.
On Wednesday, October 9, Downey shared a video of himself at Depp’s ‘A Bunch of Stuff, an immersive and experiential exhibition’ which is currently running at the Starrett-Lehigh Building in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood.
He captioned his post on Instagram: “Wow…Don’t miss A Bunch of Stuff now on exhibition at the Starrett-[Lehigh] Building in NYC.
“My brother JD is an artist through and through, no surprise, just delight.”
At the start of the video he said: “That's my boy! Alright, let's take a look at the show.”
He went on to share a number of glimpses of artwork featured in the exhibit, set to the audio of a song by Depp’s band Hollywood Vampires.
At one point in the video clip, Downey, 59, blows a kiss to the camera.
Downey recently appeared in the new play McNeal, which is playing at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre.
It is the Iron Man star’s first ever role on Broadway and earlier this month, Depp took to Instagram to heap praise on his friend.
He said: “Most fortunate to witness my dear, brilliant friend Bob Downey and the superb cast of ‘McNeal’ last night at @lctheater. Outstanding! Go see it if you can!!!”
The two actors first worked together in 2000 and have remained friends ever since.
Downey stood by Depp during his legal battles with Amber Heard according to FandomWire and the pair share a love of art and music.
Depp, 61, who played Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, launched the new exhibit which features artwork that dates back to his early 20s, as well as some of Depp's personal artifacts and ephemera from his homes and art studios.
He told PEOPLE in September: “Through the magic and madness of life, art has been my sanctuary.
“These pieces, born of different stages of my journey are a residue of a life lived. Creation is not always a comfortable process, but for me it’s a necessary one.”
