The play will tell the full story of what happened after Coleen Rooney set up an elaborate sting operation to find out who was snooping on her Instagram account.
In case you missed it, Coleen had sensationally claimed that Rebekah's Instagram account had leaked several stories to the British media, including claims the basement of her Cheshire home had flooded and Coleen was planning a return to television work.
Rebekah always denied she passed on the information but in the High Court, Coleen effectively won the battle of the Wags.
Producer Eleanor Lloyd told The Mirror: "The way the trial gripped the nation demonstrated how well this story would translate to the stage; the twists and turns were so intriguing you couldn’t write it."
Director Lisa Spirling said she was "thrilled" to "bring this extraordinary script to life".
In July, Channel 4 announced it was producing a two-part film titled, Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama.
Michael Sheen will star as Coleen's barrister David Sherbourne, while Dion Lloyd will play Wayne Rooney and Marton Nagyszokolyai will portray Jamie Vardy.
Channel 4 says the film "recreates the high drama, high stakes High Court defamation case that followed, a case that had a huge impact on the lives of the two women at its heart and catapulted the two sparring legal teams into the spotlight, where much like Rooney and Vardy, their every move in the courtroom was dissected and scrutinised in the press".
Broadcasters are reported to be bidding to secure rights to a film adaptation of the highly-publicised legal battle.
