Rapper Sean Kingston is facing decades in prison after he and his mother were found guilty on all counts of federal wire fraud in a court in Florida.
Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, and his mother, Janice Turner, were accused of defrauding multiple businesses in a in a $1million (£774,173) wire fraud scheme.
The businesses included a jewellery business, a microLED TV company and a luxury bed business.
The 34-year-old rapper was ordered to house arrest and electric monitoring. He has to post a surety bond of a house valued at $500,000, as well as $200,000 in cash.
His 64-year-old mother was remanded into federal custody, and has been ordered to stay there until sentencing later this year.
Kingston was arrested in May last year in Fort Irwin, California, after a warrant was issued following a SWAT team raiding his home in Broward, Florida.
A federal grand jury indicted Kingston and his mother in July 2024. It accused the rapper of abusing his celebrity status and influence to convince businesses to deliver goods before payment.
The indictment claimed Turner followed up to make sure of delivery and other details.
Payment was then made for the goods via fraudulent and worthless wire transfers, the complaint said, while the items were kept by Kingston.
The pair pleaded not guilty on all counts.
Kingston was allowed to post bond and remain out of jail until he is sentenced partly due to his refusal to testify and staying silent during the case.
The rapper first rose to fame with his track 'Beautiful Girls' that was released in 2007 when he was 17.
Following on from that smash hit, Kingston went on to release tracks such as 'Fire Burning' and 'Eenie Meenie' featuring Justin Bieber.
