Rapper Dan Sur has had gold chains implanted into his head.
The rapper who fuses Latin music with reggaeton reportedly underwent cosmetic surgery to have dozens of gold hooks implanted into his head, from which he now dangles even more gold chains.
He said: “The truth is that I wanted to do something different because I see that everyone dyes their hair. I hope not everyone copies me now. I have it as a hook that is implanted in my head and that hook has hooks and they are all hooked in my skull, under my skin”.
He went on to add: “This is my hair. Golden hair”, laying claim to being “The first rapper to have gold hair implanted in human history.” To be honest, we can’t think of any other so Dan Sur wins this one.
He has also encouraged no one else to copy him, which you probably won't be surprised to hear is a sentiment that's been echoed by a plastic surgeon.
Dr Frank Agullo advised people against having anything implanted in their head, warning that there are significant risks involved.
He told Yahoo News: "Implants like this are not safe. They introduce an easy path for bacteria between the outside world and the internal body. In this case, the bone covering the brain.
"In addition, I am concerned about the amount of weight these hooks are supporting. The weight or any accidental tug on a band of gold could cause the implant to dislodge and even fracture the skull," the doctor added.
Meanwhile, dermatologist Dr Mona Gohara said Sur could have "permanent hair loss from damage to the follicle" due to the danger of permanent scarring or scalp inflammation.
She continued: "I would strongly discourage anyone [from undergoing this procedure], for all the risks and complications involved.
"Especially at a young age, long-term consequences need to be considered."
We have no idea how much his mane of golden dreadlocks is worth but it certainly brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "heavy is the head that wears the crown."
