Film lovers have been left shocked after watching an under-the-radar horror which some have described as one of the most disturbing films they've ever watched.
Viewers have been taking to social media to both praise the movie and voice their shock at just how graphic and "messed up" it is.
Bone Tomahawk was released in 2015, and was directed by S. Craig Zahler. The film, which if you were going to try and give it a genre would probably be a Western horror, stars Kurt Russell as a sheriff.
The IMDb synopsis reads: "In the dying days of the old west, an elderly sheriff and his posse set out to rescue their town's doctor from cannibalistic cave dwellers."
And "cannibalistic cave dwellers" doesn't even begin to do justice to just how disturbing this film is, with graphic, gory scenes of the cannibalism and plenty of twists and turns in the plot.
Taking to X, one person wrote: "I was able to see Bone Tomahawk (Frontera Caníbal) from 2015. Most of the movie is just another western, but the ending will leave your jaw on the floor. Very strong gore scenes."
Another page on the platform asked viewers what was the "most brutal movie scene ever", sharing a still from Bone Tomahawk.
Many responded to the post with their reaction when they watched the film.
One person wrote: "Bone Tomahawk is definitely one of the most disturbing movies I've ever watched."
Another said: "Thinking Bone Tomahawk was just going to be a fun western movie... then the halfway mark hits."
A third wrote: "I feel Bone Tomahawk is super underrated as a horror/western movie! To say this movie is gory and graphic is a severe understatement.
Someone else said it was a "truly f***ed up movie that I absolutely loved."
Similar sentiments were shared on a thread that asked people for the "most disturbing movie" they'd ever watched, and several people mentioned Bone Tomahawk.
One person replied: "Bone tomahawk wins all these horrific/scarring/shock polls. All. Night. Long."
Someone else said the film was "so messed up I couldn't finish it."
Another user added: "'Bone tomahawk' takes the craziest western for me it has one of the wildest scenes I’ve ever seen."
Despite the film's disturbing nature, it was well-received by critics and audiences alike, and holds a score of 91 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
If you're feeling brave enough to watch it, Bone Tomahawk is available to watch on Amazon Prime.
