José de la Torre, star of Netflix series Toy Boy, has tragically passed away at just 37-years-old.
The actor, who is best known for playing Iván in the hit Spanish series, had revealed to fans just a few months ago that he had been battling a severe illness.
The star revealed his diagnosis in June, and began receiving treatment that same month.
As a result, he has remained out of the spotlight since, which made it all the more shocking when Spanish outlet Montilla Digital announced his death this morning.
His funeral was held last Friday in his hometown of Montilla in Spain's Cordoba Province.
De la Torre's last Instagram post showed him with a big smile on his face, partying with friends in the Canary Islands.
The post was captioned: "The joy of arriving in the Canary Islands, seeing your friends, grabbing a mojito, and singing your heart out until you lose your voice."
Since the announcement of his passing, tributes have been paid to the talented actor and model.
Spanish actress and singer Lolita Flores reportedly spoke at his memorial service, saying: "It breaks my heart to think I’ll never hear your voice again, but I’ll keep talking to you. Love you endlessly, José."
Cristina Castaño, who starred alongside the actor in Toy Boy, said she was "in shock" following the news.
Another friend of the star's, Marta Martinez-Bordiu, said: "My dear friend, you can't imagine how sad I am to receive such terrible news.
"It's not fair, you deserved more time, nobody enjoyed life like you, your energy, your light... you are a very special person, always happy and eager to have a good time and do things."
She continued: "It can't be true that I won't see you again and that we won't go out partying again. I'm going to miss you very much, my friend. I love you very much."
De la Torre will be remembered by many for his portrayal of Iván in the popular Netflix show, which ran for two seasons from 2019 to 2021.
The show follows a stripper who’s desperate to prove his innocence for a crime he didn’t commit.
