Netflix announced last month increased their price for a standard subscription from £8.99 to £9.99 a month. The basic plan remains £5.99.
The streaming service's premium account will now cost between £11.99 and £13.99.
Earlier this week, the streaming platform was criticised by pop star Taylor Swift due to a joke made on their new show, Ginny & Georgia. In an episode, a character criticises another for going "through men faster than Taylor Swift". The singer responded by calling the joke "lazy" and "deeply sexist", tweeting: "Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back. How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY. Also, Netflix after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you."
