If you're looking for a new series to get stuck into to help you through a cold and wet January, Netflix have come through with their latest addition.
The streaming giants have added all seven seasons of the iconic US drama series Mad Men, which centres around a Manhattan advertising agency in the 1960's.
The show stars Jon Hamm as the charismatic and enigmatic Don Draper, creative director at the Madison Avenue-based Sterling Cooper agency.
The series also stars Elizabeth Moss, John Slattery, Christina Hendricks and Vincent Kartheiser.
The show was created by Matthew Weiner, who had previously served as a writer and a producer on several TV series, most notably The Sopranos.
From its outset, Mad Men was lauded by critics and garnered an army of devoted fans whop quickly elevated it to the level of a cultural phenomenon.
For each of its first four seasons, the program received the Emmy Award for outstanding drama series, and it also earned three Golden Globe Awards for best television drama series.
While the character of Don takes up much of the discourse surrounding the series, there are moments where Pete Campbell (played by Kartheiser) and Peggy Olson (played by Moss) force themselves into the protagonist spotlight thanks to the depth and complexity of their characters.
Well written, great cast, beautiful set design and fashion, sorrowful and humorous - perfect to watch during dark winter nights.
