Naked and Afraid star Sarah Danser dead at 34

The reality star was reportedly sitting in a parked car when a man drove at speed into the vehicle on Sunday.

The 59-year-old driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle prior to the collision according to Honolulu police.

Danser, who was a passenger in the parked car, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. However, despite the best efforts of doctors, she died of her injuries on Tuesday, 22 October.

Her brother Jake Danser paid an emotional tribute to her as he told KSLA: “Magical is the way to describe her. Sarah had this positive energy about her that just really filled the environment that she was in.”

Her dad added: “I actually saw how much of a difference she made in the lives of others. I think she saved my life once, diving in Indonesia.”

The man driving the car that hit the car she was in was hospitalised in serious condition. Police said it is not believed he had consumed drugs or alcohol.

A woman who was also in the parked car at the time of the crash was taken to hospital in serious condition, while police said another man in the parked car refused treatment following the crash.

Danser’s co-star Melissa Lauren branded her friend ‘the most adventurous soul’.

She said: “She wasn’t only a fierce survivalist on Naked and Afraid (she completed XL in South Africa with me), but a breast cancer survivor who kept an inspiring and positive attitude through her treatment.

“Rest easy Sarah, I know you’re out there exploring somewhere.”

Danser, originally from Colorado, had lived in Hawaii for about 12 years before the accident.
