While Todd recommended keeping the news private, Lemmy, 70, insisted that he wanted to let his fans know what was going on but sadly he died before he had the chance.
Todd explained: "He was like, 'No, no. You go ahead and put out a press release. I want people to know it was cancer. It's a bad thing and they should know it.' That's how he felt."
