Love Island’s Samira is being ‘sued’ for quitting her job to go on the show

She was meant to be in a West End musical

One question that always comes up when you stop to think about reality TV is “Don’t these people have jobs?”. I mean, they must have to quit their regular employment in order to go and live in a villa in Spain, right? And isn’t that a big risk? Yeah, you might become an Instagram superstar, but on the other hand, you might just be like Harley, the one-week wonder from last year’s show. #StayHumble Well, the conundrum might land one islander in trouble. Samira Mighty was meant to be part of the cast for the musical Dreamgirls in the West End. But she quit her job with one day’s notice to go on the show. And now The Independent are reporting that her unimpressed former employers are seeking legal action. Her name has been removed from the cast list, and company Sonia Friedman Productions are seeking £3,000 in compensation. An anonymous source reportedly said:

She won’t walk into a job any time soon. Her name is mud and her behaviour totally unprofessional.

Samira has previously appear on stage in the West End production of ABBA musical Mama Mia. She was also in the live action movie version of Beauty and the Beast. Dreamgirls tells a fictionalised story of Motown Records and The Supremes, and was turned in to a 2006 Oscar winning movie starring Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Beyonce.
