According to Baron Cohen, during the 2012 GQ Awards, Gallagher threatened: "You know what, I'm going to stab you. I'm going to stab you in the eye..."
It was apparently due to a joke that the comedian had agreed to make and didn't follow through with.
"I thought to myself, I've never heard such a specific threat. That's a good aim," explained Baron Cohen to Conan O'Brien on a recent appearance on his chat show.
Well Gallagher moved swiftly to correct the alleged threat, and clear up any confusion.
A spokeswoman for the singer confirmed: "Liam wants to clarify that it wasn't just the one eye, it was both."
Brilliant.
