Kate Bush shares rare statement after topping UK charts thanks to Stranger Things

Running Up That Hill is number one, 37 years after it was released

Kate Bush has shared an emotional message with fans after her eighties hit reached the top of the UK charts. Running Up That Hill came out back in 1985, but the track has recently seen a huge surge in popularity after featuring in the latest series of Stranger Things. While Bush's song hung back in second place before Harry Styles' As It Was last week, Friday's UK chart show revealed that her old-school anthem had in fact climbed to the top. The track has now broken the record for the biggest gap between a song being released and topping the charts, which was previously held by Wham! with Last Christmas. Bush is now also the artist with the longest gap between number one singles - her last chart-topper being Wuthering Heights in 1978.
