IT: Chapter 2 releases the first official look at the adult cast

Production has officially begun on the highly anticipated sequel to IT

IT was without a doubt one of the scariest films of the last few years. The movie adaptation moved Stephen King’s story up from the 1950s to 1988, and also cut the story in half – meaning that the film only focused on the first part with Bill, Beverly and the rest as kids. And the film’s incredible box office meant that a sequel, set in the present day, was basically rushed into production. IT: Chapter 2 will be directed by Andy Muschietti and will star Scotland's own James McAvoy as an adult Bill Denbrough. Other actors appearing in the film are Jessica Chastain as Beverly, James Ransone as Eddie, Bill Hader as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, Jay Ryan as Ben, Andy Bean as Stanley and Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise. Production has officially started on the film, ahead of its release in September 2019. James McAvoy already shared a photo of some Laughing Cow cheese from the set (yeah, we didn’t get it either). "We're gearing up for it now, so I'm sort of in the process of getting back into that character of Pennywise," he explained. "I'm sort of in the mindset and we're gearing up for it. "I think [the Losers' Club cast] start in July. I'm not sure exactly when my start date is, but some time this summer." Director Andy Muschietti has also promised that film will be even scarier than the first film. “Bring your adult diapers," he told an audience recently.
