I'm A Celebrity viewers were left fuming after Maura Higgins' shock elimination from the jungle in last night's episode.
On Thursday night's episode, Love Island star Maura and boxing legend Barry McGuigan were voted out of the ITV show.
Earlier in the episode, viewers had watched as dancer Oti Mabuse won a ticket to the celebrity cyclone on Saturday, meaning she was immune from the next two rounds of public voting.
This left Maura, Barry, Reverend Richard Coles, Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, GK Barry and Alan Halsall all up for elimination.
And it was Barry and Maura who finished 8th and 7th respectively in the vote.
After their departure was announced by Ant and Dec though, the overwhelming reaction on social media seemed to be one of anger.
In particular, it was Maura's departure that seemed to upset fans the most, with many baffled that Corrie star Alan had received more votes than her.
One person exclaimed on X: "MAURA SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FINAL 4 NOBODY SPEAK TO ME."
A second commented: "Barry and Maura before Alan we’ve failed as a country."
Another wrote: "Alan should have gone instead of Maura."
"Yer man Alan shouldn’t have stayed over Maura and Barry. That’s a travesty," a fourth said.
Someone else commented: "HOW IS ALAN STILL IN CAN THE CORRIE FANS STOP VOTING FOR HIM, MAURA WAS ROBBED!"
Another said: "I’m sorry Alan’s nice and all, Coleen’s a nice lady, but neither of them deserved to stay over Maura."
Two more celebrities will be voted out of the jungle in tonight's show, before everyone's favourite Bushtucker Trial, Celebrity Cyclone, takes place on Saturday during the semi-final.
The final will then take place on Sunday, when the new King or Queen of the Jungle will be crowned.
