After years of development, and more than a decade after the release of Grand Theft Auto V, the producer of the franchise have finally released the first footage of the much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI.
It also reveals that we won’t be getting our hands on the game until 2025.
In a press release, Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar Games, said: "Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences.
"We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
But even by the time it does get released, millions of gamers won't actually be able to play the latest GTA.
This is because the game will only be released on certain consoles.
Rockstar have confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and Series S - but there is no mention of other consoles.
The game will be a next-gen only title, meaning it will not be released on the Xbox One or PS4.
Perhaps most significantly, it also doesn't sound like GTA VI will be released on PC, with Rockstar giving no mention of whether it will be released on this platform.
This news in particular sparked anger from fans, with one person on the PC gaming subreddit: “Honestly, the way Rockstar treats PC players as second class citizens is a joke."
Another said: “Did anyone expect different really? PC will drop a year or two later like every one of their releases.”
Gamers also took to X to share their reaction to the PC snub.
The only information Rockstar have provided about GTA 6's release date is that it will be in 2025, but some fans believe they've spotted a hidden message that could provide a more specific date.
