Rumours of Maguire - who played Spider-Man in director Sam Raimi's trilogy from 2002 until 2007 - and Garfield - who played the hero in Marc Webb's 2012's reboot The Amazing Spider-Man and its 2014 sequel - have been rife online since it was revealed that director Jon Watts No Way Home deals with the Dr Strange and the multi-verse.
Fan-speculation intensified when recent trailers revealed a slew of returning Spider-Man villains from Maguire and Garfield's time-lines, including Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx's Electro and the Lizard - among others.
Now it seems the cat - or should we say spider - is out of the bag, with Norton's since-vanished tweet appearing to show Holland's Spider-Man flanked by a suited-up Garfield and Maguire.
Well, sort of.
Avid fans were quick to point out that this could just be a case of a simple PR mistake.
According to Twitter sleuths, the image in question is a fan-created mock up poster - and not officially linked to No Way Home or Marvel.
What's more, apparently The Graham Norton Show has a history of accidentally posting fan-posters by mistake, having published a fan-made image of the 50th anniversary Doctor Who special, The Day of the Doctor, on telly.
Still, it hasn't stopped fans' spider-senses from tingling at the prospect of Maguire and Garfield's return to the spider-verse - and with a little over a week to go before all is revealed, the question will soon be answered once and for all.
