Acting legend, Glen Powell, has said that James Bond should 'never' be played by an American actor.
Speaking to JOE, Powell asked if British people think James Bond can be played by an American.
He responded: "Bond? Absolutely not."
When asked if he would consider playing Bond he replied: "Me? Absolutely not."
He added: "No look I'm a huge James Bond fan. As a kid I tried to get people to call me Pierce, because of Pierce Brosnan, I even wrote a James Bond play.
"All my cousins wanted to be James Bond.
"But no, as a James Bond fan, I know a Brit should play him."
And according to a JOE poll, 89% of people agree with Powell and say Bond should always be played by a British actor... Probably a good time to mention that Pierce Brosnan is Irish.
Glen Powell was speaking to JOE with director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) have teamed up for the action-packed new movie The Running Man.
The film is an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel about a murderous game show, the story was also famously brought to the screen by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the ’80s, though this new version gives it a more clever, contemporary spin.
