Foo Fighters’ ‘hiatus’ to come to an end with new material planned in 2017

New material from the Foo Fighters is set to arrive before the end of 2017 after it was revealed that the band will spend the majority of the coming year recording material for what will be their ninth studio album. Dave Grohl and company were recently confirmed as headliners alongside Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Maroon for the BottleRock Napa Valley festival at the end of May. Dave Graham, CEO of festival organisers Latitude 38, said that it could feasibly be the Foos’ only appearance in the coming year (in the US) as they’ll be busy recording new material throughout 2017. “The Foo Fighters are in the studio all next year recording a new album and BottleRock may be their only show in 2017 in North America,” Graham said when promoting the festival in an interview with the Napa Valley Register.
