First teaser trailer for Toy Story Five has finally been released

To Summer 2026, and beyond!

It has been five years since Toy Story 4 graced our screens, and Buzz, Woody and the rest of the gang have been sorely missed by those who adore the movie series.

The fourth instalment, released in June 2019, saw the return of Woody, Buzz and the rest, far from home, discovering new friends—and old ones—on an eye-opening road trip that took them to some unexpected places.

It's been almost 30 years since the first film took the world by storm.

It quickly became one of Pixar's flagship titles, and anyone born in the 90's will have fond memories of watching Andy's toys come to life.

Now, Pixar have provided us with a short teaser trailer to get us excited for the much-anticipated new film, along with an update on when it will hit cinema screens.

During a presentation at D23 - an annual Disney fan event taking place this weekend in Anaheim California - producers announced that filmmaker and voice actor Andrew Stanton will direct the fifth film.

Stanton has contributed to every Toy Story script since the inception of the inaugural film, but this will be the first time he’s engaged on this IP as a director.

A new Toy Story wasn't the only big announcement at D23.

Fans were told to expect Incredibles 3, Frozen 3 and a new Lilo and Stitch film in the next couple of years.

Those in attendance were also treated to a trailer for the upcoming Lion King prequel Mufasa: The Lion King, starring Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Seth Rogen.

Directed by Barry Jenkins, the film has been scheduled to hit cinemas on December 20 of this year, just in time for Christmas.
