One of Bruce Willis’ most underrated movies has been added to Prime Video

The film has a star-studded cast.

A film which many consider to be Bruce Willis' most underrated movie has just been added to Prime Video.

Lucky Number Slevin not only stars Willis, but also features Josh Hartnett, Lucy Liu, Bruce Willis, Stanley Tucci, Ben Kingsley, and Morgan Freeman.

Released in 2006, it follows the character of Slevin (Josh Hartnett) who ends up in the middle of a war between two rival New York crime lords thanks to a rather unfortunate case of mistaken identity. The two crime lords are played perfectly by Ben Kingsley (The Rabbi) and Morgan Freeman (The Boss).

While under the watchful eyes of Detective Brikowski (Stanley Tucci) and well-known assassin Goodkat (Bruce Willis), Slevin must quickly devise a plan to save his skin before his luck runs out.

It's non-stop action sequences and suspense and is the kind of movie where you absolutely have to pause if you need to go to the toilet because you can't afford to miss a single thing.

The movie has an incredible number of twists considering it's one hour and fifty minute run time, and boasts a high body count and impressive performances from all of the big names involved.

There's quite a gap between the audience score and the critic's score on Rotten Tomatoes, which supports the view that this film falls into the 'cult classic' category.

The critics and journalists gave it a measly 52%, which we think is a bit harsh, while the audience gave it a healthy 87%.

Willis appeared in the Paul McGuigan (Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool) directed thriller during the height of his acting career.

More recently, the 69-year-old has been struggling with frontotemporal dementia after being diagnosed in early 2023.

According to the NHS website, FTD is different from the more well-known type of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease. But unlike Alzheimer’s, memory is not the first to go.

Aphasia – difficulty speaking and putting thoughts into words – is the first symptom for most. Willis has been struggling with this since the spring of 2022.

FTD also warps people’s personalities, as it affects the region of the brain responsible for mood regulation, prompting  sudden violent outbursts, inappropriateness in public, a lack of self-awareness, and anxiety. 

Like other types of dementia, frontotemporal dementia tends to develop slowly and get gradually worse over several years.

Willis' daughter Rumer recently appeared on the popular US talk show Today with Hoda & Jenna where she opened up about her dad's condition.

When asked about the impact of Bruce’s battle on the rest of the family, she said: "It’s one of those things that is always evolving, but the most beautiful aspect of it is the depth of loving it reveals. When you take away some of the stuff that gets in the way of how we all connect everyday, it can be so powerful."

Another of Willis’ daughters, Tallulah, spoke on The Drew Barrymore Show recently about her own relationship with her beloved father, saying: "I see love when I’m with him, and it’s my dad, and he loves me.

"Playing music… and sitting in that and this energy of love, it’s really special."
