Drake Bell's wife has reportedly filed for divorce, one week after the former Nickelodeon star was reported "missing and endangered".
TMZ reported Thursday that Bell's wife of four years, Janet Von Schemling, filed for divorce sometime this week.
The publisher said the couple, who have a one-year-old son together, split-up in September of last year, but Von Schemling is now seeking divorce citing "irreconcilable differences."
She also wants primary legal and physical custody of their son, Wyatt Bell, according to the publisher.
Bell would be granted visitation rights, and would be asked to pay spousal support.
The report comes days after Bell, best known for his role on Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh, was reported missing by authorities in Florida, with the Daytona Beach Police Department dubbing him "missing and endangered."
The 36-year-old, whose real name is Jared Drake Bell, was later found safe and well, but received a mental health evaluation following the ordeal.
Bell, who has also starred in multiple Nickelodeon projects, including The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, and the live-action The Fairly OddParents movies, has had a troubled for years.
Bell recently completed a two-year probation sentence on charges he faced after he pled guilty to child endangerment in June 2021. Allegations against Bell were made by a then 19-year-old woman, who reported the actor to police in 2018, accusing him of grooming her since she was 12. He is registered as a sex offender.
In 2016, Bell was arrested for drink-driving and he’s also been accused of abuse by a woman that he was in a relationship with for five years. In 2014, Bell filed for bankruptcy.
