Bullet Train, one of the funnest action movies of recent years, has just been added to Netflix.
Released in cinemas in 2022, Brad Pitt stars as Ladybug - a notoriously unlucky assassin who is determined to complete his latest assignment in Japan peacefully after one too many of his jobs have gone sideways.
"Fate, however, may have other plans, as Ladybug's latest mission puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the globe - all with connected, yet conflicting, objectives - on the world's fastest train," the plot synopsis reads.
Bullet Train was helmed by veteran stunt performer and coordinator turned director David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, the currently in cinemas and very good The Fall Guy).
And what sets its apart from similar action comedies is its cool train setting, an endearingly sweet performance at its centre from Pitt and an excellent supporting cast including Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Andrew Koji, Bad Bunny, Brian Tyree Henry, Hiroyuki Sanada, Joey King, Logan Lerman, Michael Shannon, Sandra Bullock and Zazie Beetz.
JOE's positive original review of the movie reads: "Bullet Train is essentially: 'What if Tarantino directed a ’90s action movie?' And the answer is… it would be pretty good."
You can read a sample of some of the other glowing write-ups for the fun flick right here:
Austin Chronicle: "Kind of smart-dumb film that is endlessly, idiotically fun."
Chicago Sun-Times: "Unlike so many of the cookie-cutter, wisecracking-assassin movies in recent memory, Bullet Train acknowledges its outlandishness from the beginning and yet also manages to connect so many dots in creative, gotcha fashion."
Mashable: "Bullet Train is a satisfyingly eye-popping and heart-pounding wild ride."
New York Post: "Bullet Train is a fun flick, to be sure, reminiscent of director Guy Ritchie’s better crime comedies such as The Gentlemen... But, as the title suggests, it’s louder and faster."
Rolling Stone: "The amount of casual charisma and commitment Pitt is bringing to this is the one thing that actually differentiates this from being just another stylishly lit, stupid-hip snarkfest."
Bullet Train is streaming on Netflix in the UK, Ireland and the US right now.
